This workshop offers a practical and legal overview of trade remedies under WTO rules. It covers WTO principles, the legal framework for anti-dumping, subsidies and countervailing measures, and safeguards, as well as the conditions for their application. Participants will learn about investigation procedures, transparency and due process, and the duration and review of measures.
The workshop places strong emphasis on the determination of dumping and injury, including key concepts, methodologies, and margin calculations, supported by hands-on simulations. It also addresses the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and the investigation of countervailing actions.
The program concludes with an introduction to WTO tools for training, case management, notifications, and trade remedies data, followed by a general review and discussion.
