Description
The workshop aims to enhance the participants' knowledge regarding the main provisions of the SCM Agreement; provide an overview of WTO notifications requirements under the SCM, along with a description of the functions of the SCM Committee; and provide participants with an overview of the provisions regarding countervailing duty investigations.
The Secretariat will provide presentations regarding the subsidies discipline under the WTO and the basic notification obligations under the SCM Agreement. These will be followed by practical examples and case studies to familiarize participants with the different type of subsidies, and help them identify notifiable subsidy programmes. The Workshop will also guide participants on the notification formats and provisions. Finally, the Workshop will also cover the rules on countervailing duty investigations.
