This national workshop will focus on trade in services, the GATS, and services-related issues and negotiations currently ongoing in the WTO, in particular on e-commerce. Targeting an audience from the trade ministry and other ministries and agencies, the workshop will familiarize participants with key trends in services trade and with the main principles and obligations of the GATS, with a particular focus on schedules of specific commitments. The workshop will also brief participants on developments on e-commerce in the context of the WTO, highlighting the relationship between services trade and e-commerce and informing of ongoing discussions and negotiations on e-commerce in the WTO. The sessions will also include presentations and discussions on services domestic regulation and on investment facilitation.
