selection process
Countries from the Caribbean are invited to submit the names of up to four capital-based officials, out of which two candidates will be selected for participation in the event. Participants are required to be fluent in English which will be the working language of this event.
Pre-requisite
The nominees should be middle to senior level officials who have proven professional experience and responsibilities in the area of Trade, Fisheries Subsidies, and/or Fisheries Management, ideally some officials from the Ministry currently working on the WTO fisheries subsidies negotiations and some experts from the national fisheries authority with responsibility in the area of fisheries policy aimed at sustainability of fisheries. At least one nominee should be in a position to follow up on the domestic process required to deposit the instrument of acceptance for the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies to the WTO.
