Description
The ninth technical symposium organized by WHO, WIPO, and WTO will take place on December 15th, 2022. It will be opened by the three Directors-General. The Symposium will provide scientific background to the pandemic and look into key challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic experienced within the health, trade, and IP frameworks. Panelists and participants will also examine case studies to guide and inform the development of information tools for policymakers, discuss how health, trade, and IP tools can support recovery from the pandemic and build resilience to be better prepared for future health crises, and identify priorities and directions for future work. The Symposium is open to Geneva-based delegations to WHO, WIPO, WTO, representatives of international and philanthropic organizations, experts on IP and trade, civil society organizations, and interested individuals and organizations.
It will be held in hybrid format and the working language will be English (with simultaneous interpretation into French and Spanish).
