Description
This workshop has been requested by Kenya to provide training on the SPS Agreement and its implementation, as well as to enhance the national coordination capacity of Kenyan officials. It will cover the main principles and disciplines of the SPS Agreement, including transparency, as well as the work of the SPS Committee and how it can be used to resolve trade problems. It will also cover the relationship between the SPS, TBT and TF agreements, the role of ISSBs (Codex, OIE, IPPC), and STDF work. The workshop will combine lectures, exercises and interactive sessions aiming at enhancing participants' overall understanding of the main provisions of the Agreement, institutional mechanisms and online tools so as to enhance engagement and national coordination on SPS matters.
