Description
This 6-day virtual course provides a horizontal overview of the principles, functions and agreements of the WTO at the multilateral and regional level. Topics covered in the programme include market access, trade in services, agriculture, TRIPS, etc. On the last day of the Course, 12 October, a General Session on joint initiatives and preparation for the Ministerial Conference (MC12) is organized in which Senior WTO officials as well as the Chairs and co-chairs of various negotiating groups on areas of particular interest to the region will provide the latest developments in the lead to MC 12.

selection process
A selection committee will review the applications and select up to three candidates per country. Applications may be submitted to the General Secretariat of ALADI until 15 September 2021.
Pre-requisite
Candidates to attend the course must meet two minimum requirements:
1. Candidates must be government officials with responsibility for international or regional trade issues and be based in their own country.
2. Candidates must have prior knowledge of the WTO, either by accrediting equivalent knowledge acquired through professional experience or by having completed an online course, such as the Introduction to the WTO.
