Description
This online dialogue will serve as initial introductory discussions on specific topics in preparation to the workshop on the WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT Agreement) requested by Zimbabwe and which had to be postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The online dialogue will focus on two topics: i) an overview of the main provisions of the TBT Agreement; and ii) transparency rights and obligations in the TBT Agreement. The dialogue will also provide an opportunity for participants to identify the main challenges for Zimbabwe on the implementation of the TBT agreement as well as how it can be used to serve the country's trade interests.
The issues identified will provide background for potential additional dialogues as well as for the future WTO Workshop to be organized in Zimbabwe. Participants are expected to contribute actively to the online dialogue.
