Title of the activity
Virtual Training on Agriculture and the WTO for Acceding Governments
Activity Type
Virtual workshop - Global
Description
Agriculture is one of the most complex and technical issues in the WTO accession negotiations. This training activity targets government officials from acceding governments.
The 10-day virtual training is aimed at providing a better understanding of the Agreement on Agriculture in general, as well as, domestic support, tariff rate quota and export subsidies in particular. Exercises focusing on TRQ and Agricultural Support Table, which are particularly challenging for negotiators, will be arranged. The training will equip government officials with adequate knowledge and techniques to engage in accession negotiations, as well as, the post-accession implementation of the relevant obligations.
