Upon the request of Lao PDR, a national workshop on import licensing and notification will be held in Vientiane from 16 to 18 July 2019. The objectives of the activity include: (1) to improve the understanding of the Agreement on Import Licensing Procedures of government officials in different ministries responsible for import licensing/control; (2) to train local officials how to access and retrieve information from the new WTO import licensing database; (3) to clarify notification requirements under the Agreement and teach them how to use the new notification templates; (4) to help local officials prepare Lao PDR's new reply to the annual questionnaire for 2019. The TA activity will be delivered by staff from MAD.
