Post-TPR National Activity on Trade Policy
Activity Type
National
Description
The activity will play a crucial role in supporting the development and effective implementation of the national trade policy of the Gambia. It will equip policymakers and relevant stakeholders with the knowledge, technical skills, and practical tools needed to design well-informed and evidence-based strategies. The workshop provides a platform to present and discuss the key findings and recommendations of The Gambia’s Trade Policy Review (TPR), allowing for a shared understanding of priority trade policy reforms among government, private sector, and development partners. It helps identifying policy gaps and implementation constraints, support the translation of TPR recommendations into actionable measures, and initiate discussions on the development of the next Trade Policy Strategy Document. The workshop also aims to strengthen institutional coordination and stakeholder engagement in trade policymaking. In addition, the training will enhance understanding of international trade frameworks, regional agreements, and best practices, enabling The Gambia to align its policies with global standards.
