This course provides an in-depth exploration of the World Trade Organization (WTO) principles, focusing on trade remedies, including Anti-Dumping (AD) measures, Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (ASCM), and Safeguards Agreements. Participants examine the rationale behind these trade remedies and their commonalities and distinctions. The course reviews key statistics and trends in the application of these measures.
The curriculum includes a comprehensive study of the AD Agreement, covering essential substantive and procedural elements such as the determination of dumping and injury, the analysis of causal relationships, duty calculation and application, and the investigation process. Additionally, the course delves into the key features and requirements of the ASCM, culminating in a thorough review of its provisions.
Finally, an overview of the WTO Safeguards Agreement is provided, detailing the requirements and procedures necessary for implementation. This course is essential for professionals seeking to understand the complexities of trade law and the mechanisms governing international trade remedies.
