Description
The Workshop is a specialized capacity-building activity for capital-based officials directly responsible for the preparation and/or coordination of WTO import licensing notifications. It familiarizes participants with the Agreement on Import Licensing Procedures, the relevant notification requirements, and the tools available to support the preparation and submission of notifications, including the Import Licensing website and the Import Licensing Notification Portal. The Workshop combines presentations, practical exercises, Member experience-sharing and hands-on drafting sessions.

Eligible WTO Members will be invited to nominate one capital-based official to participate in the Workshop. Nominees should be directly responsible for the preparation and/or coordination of import licensing notifications and should indicate whether they have undertaken, or will undertake, work on the preparation of such notifications by their government.
Thirty (30) places will be made available for applicants from WTO developing and least-developed Members eligible to benefit from training and technical assistance activities. In selecting participants, preference will be given to officials from developing or least-developed Members that have never submitted an import licensing notification. If the quota of funded participants is not filled, capital-based officials from Members that have submitted partial or incomplete import licensing notifications may also be considered.
Pre-requisite
Participants will be required to complete the WTO e-Learning course on the Agreement on Import Licensing Procedures prior to participating in the Workshop.
