Description
This workshop on transparency brings together officials responsible for the implementation of the SPS Agreement, notably those in charge of the implementation of the transparency obligations of the SPS Agreement, such as national enquiry points and notification authorities. The workshop also allows for an exchange of experiences on the use of online transparency tools, in particular, the ePing SPS&TBT Platform. The workshop also covers the work of the SPS Committee's Transparency Working Group, established in November 2025 as a key result of the 6th Review of the Operation and Implementation of the SPS Agreement and a collective effort by WTO Members to improve SPS transparency-related processes and practices.

The Governments of Members and Observers to the WTO, which are eligible to benefit from training and technical cooperation activities, are invited to present one or two officials for consideration in the selection process. In this regard, an invitation letter with the application form will be distributed to eligible TA beneficiaries through their WTO representation.

The WTO Secretariat reserves the right to postpone or cancel this activity in the event of force majeure or other reasons that render the execution of the activity impracticable for the organizers.
Pre-requisite
Only for government officials holding direct responsibilities in the SPS area, particularly in the implementation of the transparency provisions of the SPS Agreement or in coordination among SPS agencies at the national level, including SPS national enquiry points or national notification authorities.

Preference will be given to applications from least-developed countries (LDCs), and from developing Members and Observers that have not been sponsored to participate in an activity on the SPS Agreement in the recent past.
