Description
The objective of this four-day workshop is to enhance participants' understanding of the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies (AFS) with a view to its ratification (where not already done) and implementation, including capacity building for notification obligations. The workshop will be delivered through a combination of lectures by WTO trainers, presentations by participants, individual and group exercises, simulations, and experience-sharing sessions, with particular emphasis on notification and transparency provisions of the AFS.

LDC Members eligible to take part in this activity will receive a letter of invitation and an application form through their representation to the WTO. Applications must be submitted through the Permanent Mission/Embassy to the WTO by the deadline indicated.
Pre-requisite
Applications will only be considered from candidates who have experience and current job descriptions directly relevant to the ratification or implementation of the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies. Prior participation in WTO training activities in these areas (or equivalent training provided by another competent international organization) would be considered an advantage.
Although English-French interpretation is provided, the workshop will be delivered in English (including the materials). Therefore, all candidates should have a good working knowledge of English.
