Title of the activity
WTO Virtual Trainings on the TRIPS Agreement and Bangladesh's LDC Graduation
Activity Type
Virtual workshop - National
Description
Bangladesh is scheduled to graduate from the United Nations category of least developed countries (LDCs) in 2026. This transition has implications across several policy areas, including intellectual property–related sectors. Under the TRIPS Agreement, LDC Members benefit from specific flexibilities, including extended transition periods for implementing certain obligations. These flexibilities are time-bound and linked to LDC status. In this context, Bangladesh has requested a virtual training programme, spanning five sessions, in March 2026 covering an overview of the TRIPS Agreement and key intellectual property rights.
