Description
The objective of the workshop is to strengthen knowledge on the principle of transparency of the WTO Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement). The activity will start with a recapitulatory presentation on the SPS Agreement, with emphasis on the transparency provisions. The use of the ePing SPS and TBT Platform will also be promoted through practical exercises, aimed at enhancing the autonomy of registered users and fostering national coordination in the management of notifications. The workshop will combine theoretical sessions with group activities, including an exercise on national coordination to react to notifications of interest to Costa Rica.
The event is aimed at officials in charge of the implementation and follow-up of SPS measures, and will include a presentation by a national representative of the SPS enquiry point.
