Title of the activity
WTO Chairs Programme Annual Conference
Activity Type
Global
Description
The Annual Conference will allow the WCP Chairs from Phases I, II and III of the programme to take stock of the work that they have undertaken over the past year, as well as discuss their plans for future work and collaboration on joint projects. It will also serve to integrate Phase IV Chairs into the programme and assist them in establishing relationships with the Chairs from earlier phases, while contributing to the longer-term objectives of strengthening South-South collaboration and the promotion of inter-generational learning among Chairs. All Chairs will benefit from interaction with the Academic Advisory Board members, who will be invited to participate in the conference and will comment on the outputs delivered by the participating institutions and on the future of the programme more generally. The Chairs will additionally benefit from interaction with various entities, including donors, Geneva-based delegations, the Secretariat, and other relevant international organizations to gather insight on current priorities. As was the case in last year's conference, regional and thematic sessions will be organized, including in collaboration with different divisions of the Secretariat. Synergies are also envisioned with other WTO technical assistance programmes.
