Description
The workshop is part of the assistance provided by the WTO Secretariat, ITC and IDB to Barbados to carry out its Needs Assessment (NA) under the Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement (IFDA), which aims to help Barbados to be better prepared for the future implementation of the Agreement. This workshop corresponds to the second phase of the needs assessment, which started in September 2024, and aims to identify implementation gaps, time required for implementation and capacity building needs based on information provided by the relevant authorities and other stakeholders. This information will provide a basis for the notifications that Barbados will need to submit in the future in order to make use of the special and differential treatment (SDT) provisions on categorization of the IFDA.
