WTO e-Learning courses
Activity Type
e-Learning course
Description
The WTO e-Learning Programme provides comprehensive online training on the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Multilateral Trading System, tailored primarily for government officials from eligible WTO Members and Observers. Accessible anytime and anywhere, these courses enable participants to enhance their trade-related knowledge while seamlessly integrating learning with their professional responsibilities. All courses are expertly designed by WTO experts and the e-Learning Unit.

By enrolling in the programme, participants gain access to high-quality training materials prepared by WTO experts and receive continuous support from the e-Learning team. The programme features interactive activities, live sessions, and e-Learning Communities that foster collaboration and knowledge sharing. The programme’s key objectives are to 1) Deepen understanding of the WTO’s role, functions, and agreements; 2) Strengthen capacity to locate and utilize WTO-related information and documentation; 3) Engage in outreach activities to expand awareness of trade-related issues; and, 4) Enhance and support WTO blended learning through the provision of virtual classrooms for virtual and in-person TRTA activities.

Courses are designed with structured modules, each targeting specific learning objectives. Interactive elements enhance engagement, and successful completion is recognized with a certificate for participants who pass the final exam.

To encourage active participation, the e-Learning team organizes live sessions, maintains the WTO e-Learning Community, and curates content for platforms like X, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Instagram. These initiatives provide regular updates on WTO activities, facilitate discussions on global trade topics, and offer networking opportunities. Participants can apply insights gained from the courses and social media engagements to their daily work and policy priorities.

For those not eligible for formal enrolment, the programme offers self-study access to its course materials, extending its reach to academia, legislators, journalists, NGOs, civil society, and the private sector. This inclusive approach broadens understanding of global trade dynamics and promotes informed dialogue among diverse stakeholders.
