Title of the activity
Workshop on the implementation of Article 66.2 of the TRIPS Agreement: Incentives for Technology Transfer to LDCS
Activity Type
Thematic course/Workshop
Description
The TRIPS Agreement aims to achieve the transfer and dissemination of technology as part of its objectives, and specifically requires developed country members to provide incentives for their companies to promote the transfer of technology to least-developed countries. This obligation is outlined in Article 66.2 of the WTO's TRIPS Agreement. In accordance with a Council of TRIPS decision (IP/C/28), developed country members submit reports detailing the practical implementation of their incentives. To support this process, the WTO Secretariat organizes an annual workshop on the Implementation of Article 66.2: Incentives for Technology Transfer to LDCs.
