Upon request by Timor-Leste, and as agreed between DG Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Deputy Prime Minister and WTO Accession Chief Negotiator Francisco Kalbuadi Lay on 21 August, this visit is to engage with the new Government of Timor-Leste, inaugurated in July 2023, on the matters related to WTO accession, and to provide technical assistance as necessary for the finalization of Timor-Leste's accession as an MC13 deliverable, and preparation for post-accession.
