Description
The Secretariats of the WHO, WIPO and the WTO will jointly organize a virtual workshop entitled "Technology Transfer from Perspective of Practitioners", which aims to draw on experiences and lessons of practitioners working on the ground.
The Workshop will facilitate knowledge sharing on technology transfer in order to strengthen the capacity of policymakers and experts in member governments to understand the process in the sphere of health technologies, allowing for better response and preparedness to future pandemics.
The Workshop will be underpinned by concepts that will improve understanding of intellectual property and trade to promote technology transfer, and examine the role of licensing and financing as part of the ecosystem for innovation, local production and access to health technologies. Lastly, this trilateral webinar is part of continued efforts by the Secretariats of the WHO, WIPO and the WTO to better respond to the capacity-building needs of their members and WTO accession candidates.
