Description
The Capacity Building Workshop on Import Licensing and Notifications is a specialized training activity that seeks to improve Members' understanding of the Agreement on Import Licensing Procedures and notification requirements. The workshop will take place in Geneva, Switzerland from 25 to 27 September, 2023 and it will be conducted in English. The activity will include sessions on the Agreement on Import Licensing Procedures, notification requirements, drafting of IL notifications and sharing of experiences by other Members.

Application Forms must be returned, completed and signed by the candidate as well as by the nominating national authority which presents the candidate, via the Permanent Mission/Embassy, to the WTO Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation, Logistics Unit, (email indicated in the invitation letter) no later than the date indicated in the invitation letter. Applications for this workshop should be submitted along with a current CV indicating successful completion of relevant training on WTO Agreements.
Pre-requisite
To be considered, candidates should be:

Capital-based officials directly responsible for the preparation and/or coordination of notifications on import licensing.

In addition, nominees will be required to indicate:

i) whether work on the preparation of import licensing notifications has been undertaken by their respective government, including the challenges that have been faced; and

ii) the steps that will be taken to prepare the notification upon return to work.
