Description
This activity provides an overview of the main WTO rules that affect international trade of agricultural products. It aims to allow government officials involved in implementing various aspects of trade policies to better visualize the linkages between their respective areas of work and how these linkages play out when fulfilling transparency requirements, inter alia. It also discusses emerging trends in trade policies and measures maintained by WTO Members that are likely to shape the patterns of international trade of agricultural products and affect market access. The activity is articulated around various modules. A first module that describes the panorama of tariff and non-tariff measures that are related to trade of agricultural products, followed by specific modules covering the main instruments and online databases and resources to find notifications and other relevant information, and finally a session that presents ongoing discussions in the relevant WTO bodies.
