Description
The China International Public Procurement Forum is co-organized by the Ministry of Finance of China and the Shanghai municipal government. It is one of the main activities of WTO Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) Training organized under "China: Building a Modern Fiscal System" Technical Assistance Project supported by the World Bank. The theme of this year's Forum is "Sharing the Future of the Public Procurement Market". Its main aim is to enhance knowledge exchange and information sharing between policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and their international counterparts in the field of public procurement, to help domestic enterprises understand the opportunities of participating in international public procurement, and to help foreign governments understand the business opportunities of China's public procurement market. The WTO Secretariat has been extended the honour of providing pre-recorded opening remarks for the Forum. Deputy Director-General González has agreed to deliver them. The WTO Secretariat is further invited to make an extensive virtual presentation on the GPA 2012 and China's accession to it. The Director of IPD will make the presentation.
