Description
This TBT Workshop for CEECAC countries aimed bringing together officials from the region responsible for implementation of the WTO TBT Agreement. The purpose was to increase officials' knowledge and capacity in respect of: the key principles of the TBT Agreement; the work of the TBT Committee; the transparency and notification process, and the use of related on-line tools; and, quality infrastructure and good regulatory practices. The workshop will provide a forum to share national and regional experiences in the implementation of the Agreement, including in respect of national (and regional) coordination on TBT matters.

selection process
The WTO Secretariat will conduct a selection process to fill the 30 available spaces for the workshop. Applications will only be considered from candidates who have experience and current job descriptions directly relevant to the subject of the Workshop as described above. At equal level of competence, preference will be given to applicants for whom the training will be most relevant, and who have already undertaken the WTO E-Learning course on TBT − or equivalent training provided by another competent international organization (further information available on: https://wtolearning.csod.com/. Alternatively however, applicants may also show commensurate knowledge or professional experience.
Pre-requisite
The target audience for the workshop is mid-level government officials with direct involvement at a technical, practical and/or policy level with the implementation of the TBT Agreement. This may include representatives of ministries in charge of trade, industry, agriculture, health and others – as well as officials working in national standards bodies, enquiry points, and other quality infrastructure institutions.
