Description
This workshop aims to bring together officials from the Arab and Middle East region who are responsible for the implementation of the WTO TBT Agreement. The workshop will focus on the following areas: the key principles of the TBT Agreement; on-going work in the TBT Committee; the transparency framework; international standards; and quality infrastructure. The Workshop will provide a forum to share national and regional experiences in the implementation of the Agreement, including in the respect of national and regional coordination on TBT matters.

selection process
The target audience for the Workshop is mid-level government officials who work on a regular basis on matters relating to the implementation of the TBT Agreement, such as enquiry point officials, regulators and those involved in trade policy.

The Workshop will be conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation into Arabic.

The WTO will carry out a selection process to fill the 25 available places based on submitted applications aimed at ensuring that only qualified candidates participate in the regional Workshop.
