selection process
As part of the transition of Phase II of the Chairs Programme to the next phase, a call for proposals was launched on 29 March 2021 in the WCP network in order to encourage joint initiatives across Chairs and support the long-term sustainability of the WTO Chairs Programme. The period for submission of proposals by the current Chairs ended on 19 April 2021, with financial support to be allocated to projects through a competitive selection process. To be eligible, applications were to be supported and approved by the Rector, Vice-Chancellor or President of the proposing Chair, although the Chair Holder will remain responsible for the project proposal. Following the Call, 14 proposals were submitted by Chairs, including three joint proposals. A pre-selection process was undertaken by the WCP team to review and preselect eligible proposals and the WCP Advisory Board (AB) was consulted and invited to review and provide comments on the proposals.
