Description
This programme is available primarily to missions of LDCs and small and vulnerable economies. Candidates must come from the capital of the beneficiary country. The selected interns work at the Geneva‑based permanent missions of the beneficiary Members.
The main objectives of this internship programme are: to
- enhance the interns knowledge and understanding of the multilateral trading system and of the trade policy in general,
- strengthen the understanding of the negotiation process at the WTO, and
- support the mission in participating more actively in the daily activities at the WTO.

The programme targets primarily Members with small missions in Geneva whose capacity to follow WTO matters is very limited. A maximum of 16 FIMIP interns will be recruited annually.
Pre-requisite
Participants ideally have completed level 1, 2 and 3 of the PLS.
