Title of the activity
VIRTUAL WTO WORKSHOP FOR BRAZILIAN PRIVATE SECTOR ON THE WTO TBT AND SPS AGREEMENTS
Activity Type
Virtual workshop - National
Description
This joint TBT-SPS virtual workshop will be attended by a large group (250) of participants from various areas of the Brazilian private sector involved in trade activities affected by TBT and/or SPS regulatory measures. Besides the Brazilian government itself (Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Itamaraty), this WTO workshop will be organized with strong logistical support from two counterparts related to, or from, the Brazilian private sector, respectively: Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and CNI (National Confederation of Industry), both headquartered in Brasília, the country's capital.

The workshop will be delivered in three modules, each taking place in different days (the first two in mid-November, and third and last in early December). The central element of the workshop will be its third module (about TBT-SPS transparency and our various e-tools available to enable stakeholders better participate in, and address, regulatory concerns and discussions). The first two modules will lay the ground for the third module by giving participants an overview of key disciplines and aspects of the TBT and SPS Agreements as well as the work of their respective Committees.

The Workshop is intended to be as interactive (and less monologic) as possible, with each module foreshadowing ample time for debates and Q&As. In the end of module 3, there will also be an overall "wrap-up" session, where remaining questions/comments related to the entire activity can be posed and discussed.
