Objectives:
- enable participants to understand the importance of transparency and notifications in the WTO, as well as the need of close coordination among different government agencies, in particular in the case of pending notifications;
- allow participants to become more familiar with relevant tools available in the WTO website and provide them knowledge about how to use them; and
- enable that participants are well acquainted with notification obligations in general and formats required to submit outstanding notifications.
Content:
- A short general overview of the WTO; WTO notifications requirements: background and procedures.
- The WTO website: how to search for notifications and notification-related documents; notifications handbook.
- One-off and regular notification requirements: Saint Kitts and Nevis - a brief summary by agreement (mainly focused on goods)
- The work ahead: national coordination, preparation of notifications.
