This is a 3-day national workshop on the TBT and SPS Agreements. It will cover the main principles of the agreements, the work of the committees, current topics being discussed and technical assistance. The workshop will aim to identify key implementation challenges for China, as well as options to address them. There will be a particular focus on how government officials (and possible also private officials) can be better informed of TBT and SPS measures that may affect China including through the use of on-line transparency tools (e.g., e-Ping and capacity building). The workshop will include lectures, practical exercises, film and provision of other relevant materials by the WTO Secretariat. Participants will contribute directly to the programme through experience-sharing, exercises and group work.
