The objective of the activity is to help the government of Uzbekistan to prepare their agriculture supporting table (AGST) document to kickstart the agriculture discussions in the accession process. This is a comprehensive document on agricultural subsidies containing a landscape of the entire domestic agricultural support system maintained by Uzbekistan over the recent period; but the information has to be presented using the framework of the WTO rules (more specifically the Agreement on Agriculture). The event will also cover the WTO framework of rules on agriculture with a specific attention on agricultural subsidies. The programme may include an in-depth discussions on the domestic support policies practised in Uzbekistan with a targeted set of government officials who would be involved in the preparation of the AGST document .
