Description
The aim of the TNS Course is to enhance the negotiating skills of English-speaking African trade negotiators and deepen their understanding of how the concept works in practice. Participants will negotiate different modalities for Agriculture, Industrial products (NAMA) and Trade in Services in multilateral negotiations and apply them to international and bilateral trade negotiations. This course is designed to provide participants with skills and knowledge concerning appropriate strategies and tactics for the conduct of trade negotiations, as well as techniques of systematic decision analysis for monitoring and managing the negotiating process.

Pre-requisite
Participants meeting the criteria set out below shall be selected to attend the Advanced TNS course. Selected participants shall be those 1) with good knowledge in NAMA, Agriculture, Trade in Services or Rules. These participants would have completed RTPC or ATPC or face-to-face course (Geneva or Region) in any of the following subjects: NAMA, Agriculture, Trade in Services and Rules, or 2) who possess demonstrably commensurate experience/knowledge in trade negotiations. 3) Completion of the WTO online E-learning course on Multilateral Trade Agreements is mandatory to ensure that all participants have sufficient cross-disciplinary knowledge of WTO.
