Description
The aim of the workshop is to facilitate the more effective participation of English-speaking African countries in the work programme of the WTO relating to the Agreement on Agriculture and ongoing negotiations on this subject. The workshop aims to enhance participants' understanding of: the key provisions of the Agreement on Agriculture, including the implementation of commitments and the work of the regular Committee on Agriculture; key issues in the current agriculture negotiations, and the Bali and Nairobi outcomes; and key aspects of local/ regional agricultural policy challenges and the interaction of those policy challenges with the existing multilateral disciplines in the Agreement on Agriculture as well as with the dynamics in the agricultural negotiations.
