Description
The workshop aims to raise awareness among Georgian public and private sector stakeholders regarding the WTO trade remedy framework, while further strengthening the institutional capacity of the Georgian investigating authority. Building on prior training activities, including the i-trADe course, and the authority’s practical experience in conducting anti-dumping investigations, the workshop will address selected topics of particular relevance in greater depth and with a practical focus. Participants' thereby enhanced competencies are intended to support the effective and WTO-consistent implementation of anti-dumping measures in practice. In particular, participants should be able to :
- Assess the sufficiency and reliability of evidence at initiation and throughout the AD investigation, in line with WTO requirements;
- Apply standard and alternative methodologies for determining normal value and export price, and ensure a fair comparison, including appropriate adjustments;
- Understand the methodological considerations involved in applying a lesser duty rule;
- Conduct review proceedings in a manner consistent with WTO rules.
