The meeting will focus on two key areas: trade aspects and development aspects of cotton. The trade aspects will be managed by the Committee on Agriculture in Special Session (CoASS), including dedicated discussions on trade in cotton, chaired by the CoASS Chairperson. These discussions are supported by factual information compiled by the WTO Secretariat from notifications and other data provided by WTO members, as well as external sources such as ICAC presentations on cotton market trends. The objective is to inform ongoing negotiations on this topic. On the development side, the discussions will aim to track progress and exchange information on development assistance provided to developing countries. These meetings also offer a platform for presentations and discussions on relevant trade data, cotton production information, and other pertinent topics related to cotton.
