Description
A World Bank mission to Nigeria to complete the digital trade gap analysis exercise. Meetings with government officials (Abuja, 3-5 June) and private sector (Lagos, 6-7 June).
The WTO and the World Bank entered into collaboration to support selected African countries harness the benefit of digital trade.

The Digital Trade for Africa joint project is now in the second phase when the two institutions jointly conducted the digital trade GAP analysis for the pilot countries. Subsequently 5 pilot countries (Kenya, Rwanda, Benin, Cote Ivoire and Ghana) have been visited to validate the findings of the GAP analysis through joint missions of WTO and the World Bank. Nigeria would be the 6th one.

During the joint mission, representatives of government agencies, national regulators, business associations, and digital services providers and other players of the entire digital ecosystem will participate in the discussions and explore ways for WTO and World Bank to collaborate with Nigeria in addressing the gaps in digital trade. the joint mission also includes visits to start ups and players in the ecommerce marketplace.
