Description
The Workshop is a specialized training activity that intends to familiarize Members with the Agreement on Customs Valuation, its notification requirements, and to assist Members in preparing their respective notifications. Participants will be required to prepare one or more draft notifications at the Workshop, with the assistance of the Secretariat. Preference will therefore be given to nominees from developing or least-developed WTO Members with pending customs valuation notifications, in particular notification of their responses to the checklist of issues set out in the Annex to G/VAL/5 pertaining to their customs valuation legislation. Participants will also be encouraged to initiate work on their notifications in advance of the Workshop and will develop a plan during the Workshop regarding any follow-up work that may be needed once they return to capital. The workshop will be offered in English and French (with interpretation).

Application Forms must be returned, completed and signed by the candidate as well as by the nominating national authority which presents the candidate, via the Permanent Mission/Embassy, to the WTO Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation, Logistics Unit, (email indicated in the invitation letter) no later than the date indicated in the invitation letter. Applications for this workshop should be submitted along with a current CV indicating successful completion of relevant training on WTO Agreements.
Pre-requisite
Capital-based officials directly responsible for the preparation and/or coordination of notifications on customs valuation.

Preference will be given to nominees from developing or least-developed WTO Members with pending customs valuation notifications, in particular notification of their responses to the checklist of issues set out in the Annex to G/VAL/5 pertaining to their customs valuation legislation.

Candidates should have full command of English or French.
